Club Deportivo Open Veterans got the third place last weekend at Viena (Austria) Hockey Veterans Tournament. The team started the competition getting a 0-0 draw confronting the Bangor team from Ireland, old knowing team because they were opponents at Bremen (Germany) in 2007. The second game was clearly for CD Open with a 5-0 victory against the TGV from Holland. The third match finished with a victory by 2-0 against the CUS Padova from Italy givin CD Open a place at the semifinals.
The semi with the local team of HC Wien finished with 1-1 draw. At the penalty stroke contest, the Wien team won the match getting place at the final against the Bangor (Ireland) relegatting CD Open to fight for the third position with the HC Wettingen from Switzerland. The bronce medal game the galicians were again forced to the stroke contest this time with favorable result achieving the third position in the tournament. The champion was the local team, HC Wien, that defeat 3-1 the Bangor team from Ireland.
The expedition was composed by 14 playes and 6 relatives in a great trip with nice weather and plenty of social and touristic activities.
